gearhead, check out ATEQ’s Quikset, it’s $130ish and will store the TPMS RFIDs for multiple cars. I agree it sucks when manufacturers cheap out and don’t include the functionality to store 2 sets of ids, my parents’ ’09 RX350 has a handy button you can press and switch between two stored sets.
Asked about the spate of similar Chevy Colorado airbag deployment complaints, a Chevrolet spokesperson said: “We are aware of this situation happening on rare occasions. The reason it would occur is that head-curtain airbags are designed to deploy if the sensing system predicts that the vehicle is about to roll on its side.“
For 2019, Yamaha finally fixed its front-end wiggle. If you think Yamaha designed a new frame, you are wrong. In fact, there are no changes to 99.9 percent of the 2019 Yamaha YZ450F. The 0.1 percent change is to the wheel collars and the front axle lugs. Yamaha fixed the wag, wiggle and wander by stiffening the connection to the front wheel. Nothing more! Always stable at high speed, the bike can now turn in.
Back in May, a reader sent Jalopnik a tip about Chevrolet Colorado airbags deploying off-road. “As a ZR2 owner myself, I am very concerned about taking my truck off pavement now,” he told us after reading various complaints on owner forums. I started looking into it.
Steering is a pretty big deal. Wonder if software update is the answer or the coverup? Hard to say with GM. It took at least 2 tries to get everyone’s ignition spring done to be sure it was correct. And don’t forget they actually sent notices to people who had already been killed by it to come in and get it fixed. Not that either should happen but ill take a seatbelt that might spark a little in an accident over intermittent steering. Posted by: Clint
"Ford and Mazda also have petitioned NHTSA to escape from recalls involving about 3 million vehicles, mostly made by Ford, but no ruling has been made yet."
Pretty minor issue. If I remember correctly, Ford had a lot of problems in the first few years they started using EPAS in their vehicles.
There are a lot of internet experts, pit pundits and “the world is flat” advocates who claim that weight doesn’t matter. Not a day passes that some Honda rider doesn’t claim that his CRF450 doesn’t feel heavy—and some that claim that heavier bikes handle better than light ones. Hogwash! When a two-wheeled vehicle is balanced on two wheels, it does feel light, until you lean it off center, lift one of the wheels off the ground or try to pick it up, then the tipping-point sensation of lightness disappears. When a 238-pound CRF450 lands from a jump, the tires, rims, spokes, fork springs and frame know how much it really weighs.

JCB’s clean diesel programme has achieved 43% lower carbon emissions from its machines over the past seven years. It has mainly achieved this by improving fuel efficiency, with a resulting reduction in diesel consumption of 2.5 billion litres over that period. In February, Toyota announced that the new powertrains to be used in its two-litre engine vehicles would reduce carbon emissions by 18%. It plans to use the same powertrains in 80% of its models within five years.

Oh no you say, 100 hp is not safe! Isn’t that hypocritical? Just like I would bet that most who are against government mandated safety devices also drive a pick-up or an SUV or have one for their family or wish to buy one because they believe that they are ‘safer’. Also hypocritical. I might even say engaging in ‘class warfare’ against those who cannot afford such a vehicle, the fuel, or insurance or have parking for such a large vehicle.
