Not the enthusiast. I don’t need my car beeping and screaming and jerking the wheel out of my hand if I decide to switch lanes without a signal on an empty stretch of highway. I resent the idea of a nanny computer that thinks it knows better than I do where I want to point the car.
Beepy-flashy things in the instrument array only add confusion and uncertainty to suddenly perilous situations.
I put a set of winter tires on wheels on a 2015 Fiesta ST without the TPMS. It takes 20 miles for the system to know it is not getting proper signals – a totally useless system.
The mechanically similar 2019 GMC Sierra will get the 3.0-liter diesel and the two V8s, but we wouldn’t be surprised if some or all of the other engines offered on the 2019 Silverado found their way under the hood of the Chevy’s sibling truck.

The GM rep suggested that I not use the truck off road or on bumpy dirt roads. I brought up the fact that this is a ZR2, arguably GM’s most off-road worthy vehicle, and the rep suggested again that I not use the truck in situations that the truck might interpret as a rollover.
1. Transmission. Not just better gears but Pankl gears.2. Exhaust. We love the slip-fit in the mid-pipe that allows us to remove the shock without having to remove the pipe.3. Clutch. Nothing holds a candle to the Brembo clutch.4. Cylinder head. Lowering the head by 15mm means that the cam is lower, cam towers are stronger, valve stems are shorter and weight is reduced by 1 pound. Lowering the center of gravity made the bike feel lighter in the air.5. Sound. The KTM blew a nice 113.0 dB on the 2-meter-max test and 93 dB on the Amateur sound test.6. Weight. The 223-pound 2019 KTM 450SXF is lighter than several 250 four-strokes (and all the other 450s).7. Electric starting. KTM has had electric starting for 20 years.8. Radiators. The radiators are 12mm lower and the chassis is narrower at the fuel tank.9. Air filter. Until you see a KTM air filter, you can’t appreciate how cool it is.
I like backup cameras and safety features that stay in the background, but the beep/flashing stuff I don’t see the appeal of.
Chevy had to recall thousands of 2015 Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks when retention clips attaching the generator fuse block could come loose and shift. If the generator fuse block shifts it can cause the exposed conductors to hit the mounting studs and cause a potential fire. Pickup trucks with a 220 Amp Generator were affected by this issue. According to Edmunds, no injuries or deaths were reported with the retention clips becoming loose. Chevy asked owners to bring their vehicles into dealers for an inspection of the clips and made the necessary repairs as needed. Luckily this was caught before anyone was hurt.
It gets a little hairy with these newer systems that are more complicated. The system may not electronically or mechanically damaged due to being lifted and yet still not work correctly. So, it’s anybody’s guess.
So, the dealer can prove that the change you made damaged the malfunctioning system, then they can void the warranty on that part.
