First Look: 2019 Chevrolet Silverado can run on just one cylinder | Clutch Master Cylinder

Harley-Davidson said Tuesday it’s recalling about 238,300 motorcycles, worldwide, for a clutch problem — the fourth recall for a clutch issue in five years.

With the hardline detached from the outside, and the pin and two nuts removed from inside the car, I went back under my hood and yanked out the old master cylinder in what was, in my mind, glorious moment.

SR-71 Cylinder Heads From Kaase Racing EnginesJohn Kaase is known for his massive engines that pack an epic punch, and these SR-71 heads are no different. One Big Question: How does the Sierra differentiate itself from its mechanical twin, the Chevy Silverado?Aside from a more palatable grille than the new Silverado’s overwrought maw, the GMC offers three optional features you can’t get on a Chevy: the MultiPro tailgate, CarbonPro cargo box, and adaptive ride control. In typical GMC fashion, you’ll be expected to pay quite a bit to get them—the MultiPro tailgate requires at least the SLT trim, while the last two are only available on the extra-fancy Denali vehicles.

In our prior report, we detailed the new 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which makes 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque and shifts through an eight-speed automatic transmission. This time, we drove the new 5.3-liter V8 equipped with Chevrolet’s new dynamic fuel management (DFM) system. This fuel-saving innovation keeps power ratings intact at 355 hp and 383 lb-ft. while allowing the V8 to deactivate and reactivate individual cylinders in 17 different smooth-running patterns to respond to power needs in a fraction of a second.

There are a lot of internet experts, pit pundits and “the world is flat” advocates who claim that weight doesn’t matter. Not a day passes that some Honda rider doesn’t claim that his CRF450 doesn’t feel heavy—and some that claim that heavier bikes handle better than light ones. Hogwash! When a two-wheeled vehicle is balanced on two wheels, it does feel light, until you lean it off center, lift one of the wheels off the ground or try to pick it up, then the tipping-point sensation of lightness disappears. When a 238-pound CRF450 lands from a jump, the tires, rims, spokes, fork springs and frame know how much it really weighs. 

This is the governor that commands WOT up-shift speeds. It uses weights and springs just like a mechanical advance mechanism in a distributor, but employs two sets of weights for low and high speeds. The governors in TH350, TH400, and 700R4 transmissions are the same. For the record, this photo is of a governor in a TH350.

Fuel tank issues are not something that can be taken lightly. Chevy ran into an issue with fuel tanks with their 2011- 2015 line of Chevy Silverado 3500 and GMC Sierra 3500 pickup trucks. Both of these trucks came equipped with dual fuel tanks. According to GM Authority, there was an issue with the front fuel tank supprot, and the fuel-level sensor software was not working properly. This could lead to potential fires.

A) I was not passing anyone on a twisty two lane road. In the CX5 I was on I80 leaving NYC, on a 3-wide section, in the left lane passing a truck that was in the center lane, while we were in a bend in the road. I placed my car towards the outer part of my lane (towards the median, at worst clipping the outer edge marker) to give more space to the big rig to be more safe.

Driving assist features take the responsibility of developing your own safe driving disciplines away from you and place that responsibility with a corporate entity. If you want your safety to be the responsibility of corporation (insert vehicle manufacturer here), you are welcome to buy their products. However, if you want the very best of warning systems for MY vehicle, then you should pay for those as well.
