I don’t mind the added safety systems if they are optional. Let me chose what I want or make them all part of a safety package. My main concerns with these systems is the complexity, repair costs, and added weight. Good drivers don’t need them but they make other drivers more lax because they no longer have to worry about skill of driving.
My initial bone to pick was over your entirely emotional appeal “my children are on these roads mister!” And that is just asinine. Sorry to say, but I don’t care any more about your family than I do any other strangers.’
6. The XE boasts IMU-supported cornering ABS and lean-angle detecting traction control. ABS and TC are described in the same nomenclature as the power modes—Rain, Road, Sport, and Off-Road—instead of the usual numerical levels that we commonly see. Off-Road ABS allows for aggressive front braking in the dirt, letting you slide the rear as you’d like. The Off-Road TC is fascinating as it teaches riders to understand how the motor breaks traction, yet it doesn’t eliminate spin either—it merely subdues it. If you give it more gas mid-slide, it will let go a bit more, but never become unleashed. To hang it out, you’ll want to go into Off-Road Pro.
Having a lane departure warning alert you that you are drifting out of a lane and possibly into an empty ditch by the side of the road does diddly-squat to protect others, but can sure help you and your medical/insurance bills out.
Then there’s the CarbonPro cargo box, very much a solution looking for a problem (unless I’ve simply been deaf to years of complaints that a steel truck bed is somehow not sturdy or durable enough). This features the same sort of shapable forged carbon fiber found on the Lamborghini Huracán Performante; it reduces weight by 62 pounds—about how much the MuliPro tailgate adds, incidentally—and is, according to GMC, very durable. "Best-in-class dent, scratch and corrosion resistance," they say. It will also be, according to GMC, very expensive: while final pricing wasn’t announced for the late-availability option, it was suggested the CarbonPro bed would cost several thousands of dollars. There’s no way that "extra" capability tracks with the price, but in terms of truck-guy bragging rights, GMC has clearly pegged a significant number of owners willing to pay exorbitantly to be able to say, "Check out my carbon-fiber truck bed!" But if you want one, you’ll need to get your hand raised early: the carbon-fiber is labor-intensive and time-consuming to make, and there is a hard production limit per year from the lone supplier.
The plaintiff also couldn’t convince the judge that "used" Dodge Darts are covered by implied warranties, and although the plaintiff claims dealerships are FCA’s “distributors” or “retail sellers”, the plaintiff "provided no evidence of the relationship between FCA and its authorized dealerships."
1) If a car fails its safety inspection, it does not belong on the road. Do you disagree with this? 2) Current passive safety devices have improved collision survival. You have a problem with that? You want to remove them? 3) Most collisions are the result of driver error. You don’t think that some active devices could help prevent collisions due to driver error? You also want to remove them? 4) If consumers want a less expensive vehicle wouldn’t it make sense to dispense with ‘luxury’ items like power equipment, carpeting, etc rather than ‘safety’ items? Or do you think that A/C and power windows and a sunroof are more important than ABS, active head restraints, etc.? 5) Would you let your infant children ride without being mounted in approved child seats? IF not why? Or is it because they represent improved safety for your upcoming ‘brood’. 6) Do you have an SUV or truck like vehicle for your wife to commute in? Is it for its perceived safety? Then aren’t you being hypocritical in decrying safety for the masses? 7) Do you believe that only those in pick-ups or SUV’s deserve to be ‘safe’, or do you agree that those who can only afford compact cars should also have built in safety features? 8) Although I kept mentioning facts, you have relied solely on your emotional responses. And then tried to ‘put words in my mouth’. I get it, your family originally had to rely on old, small cars. Well so did mine, when I was young. But I learned from that and moved on. Police officers use the term ‘deathtraps’ for a reason. It is not based on the vehicles age, but its condition.
Notably, the parking sensors are not available on Colorado Base or the Colorado ZR2, including the new Colorado ZR2 Bison.
On the inside, I tightened the two nuts, replaced the pin that connects the pedal to the master cylinder pushrod, and put the paper clip back through the pin hole.
Kiloutou has bought five Iveco natural gas trucks for its equipment delivery fleet and said it will add a further 10 vehicles in 2019.
One important note: there will be a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel option arriving in early 2019. Everything about that engine is still under wraps, so weâll probably have yet another drive event with the Silverado when it makes it becomes available.
Part of the problem is poorly-calibrated systems. My Honda applies the brakes when I charge those tight, perfectly-banked right-handers, and cuts power if I get wheelspin trying to get into a gap in traffic. My old WRX would release the brakes any time I went over a bump (washboard at the end of off-ramps was extremely problematic). On occasion, these systems can make us less safe.
