As I walked to my tool box to grab a 15-mm wrench, I visualized myself performing the adjustment. I opened the driver door and placed my body on the floor of the car, close to the foot pedals. I found the clutch master cylinder adjustment rod and loosened the lock nut. I adjusted the rod until it was just touching the pedal and the end of the clutch master cylinder piston.

I will add a reason I and many other people find to be equally important. I LOVE driving and take pride in having honed my skills over many decades. I find things like lane departure warnings, blind spot warnings, front and side cameras to be FAR more distracting than helpful. I almost never use cruise control, even on long trips, because I find it makes me lazier in perceiving the traffic flow and what I might need to adjust for in the flow ahead of me – so I surely do not want adaptive cruise control.

The most obvious application for such a system would be a vehicle with an engine and transmission behind the driver, as it would the use of a manual transmission without having to run a hydraulic line to the rear from the clutch master cylinder which is usually directly in front of the clutch pedal.

The cables holding the tailgate of Chevy pickups have been a problem for close to a million vehicles. According to CBS, the tailgate issue happened due to the braided-steel support cables that keep the tailgate in place corrodes and can break with no warning at all. 84 people have been injured when the tailgate just let loose. Many American pickup truck owners also take part in tailgate parties during events. They use the truck bed and the tailgate to hang out with friends and sometimes cook. Considering how popular pickup trucks are Chevy is not recalling the tailgate cables but instead telling owners how to inspect it themselves. Pickup trucks affected are the Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, and Chevy Avalanche.

OMO mandating these drivers assist devices would lower their price by economies of scale. I have not problem with allowing them to be switched off.

From there, things went similarly to others who claim to have experienced the same issue. A clutch is used to couple and decouple a vehicle’s engine from its manual transmission so that the driver can shift gears. The steering issue only occurs at low speed. Like parking lot crawling speed and it only drops steering assist for less than 1 second. I would take that over having my Ford’s brakes fail unexpectedly or start on fire because of the seat belt mechanism. Why hasn’t Ford fixed their deadly brake failures yet? A: We can’t argue with you. Paddle shifters have been around for a long time (early 1990s) and Formula One cars prove it. Still, there are those of us who enjoy driving cars the old-fashioned way. But here is a little secret: I use the paddles all the time, especially on the twisties through the mountains of Virginia where we live. Here is another little secret: We will never own a motorcycle with an automatic transmission, for the same aesthetic.
